DANCE THERAPY & INTERVENTION
As a natural dance instructor, Emiko possesses a unique ability to connect with students of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are a special needs primary schools in West London, UK. Emiko worked at Manor Primary school for six years up to July 2023. She came to us through a dance company called Akademi and worked for a day a week with our children.

She would teach some whole class sessions of up to ten pupils as well as 1-to-1 and small group sessions. She primarily worked with our pupils with more complex learning needs who were often non- vocal. She also worked with a number of our children with mobility issues or had weight issues.

She had an amazing relationship with the pupils and with the staff and they were all eager to join in her well planned and well taught sessions. She even supported our staff to improve their own skills to be able to continue similar sessions during the week to support pupils developing those skills.

During the COVID pandemic, Emiko moved her sessions online and the parents loved seeing those sessions. They reported that their children have really begun to engage with music and movement more willingly. She even provided recorded videos for staff and parents to use between sessions.

TUESDAYS – CITY ACADEMY WITH SIMRAN
Our Bollywood Dance course for beginners brings together a variety of Indian dance styles including Bhangra, classical Indian dances and modern Bollywood fusions. The Bollywood classes are high energy and fun, and will leave you with a smile on your face.

Our Bollywood Dancing Lessons will teach you the basic Bollywood steps before putting them together into a fun choreographed routine across the weeks of your course.

COURSE CONTENT
Exact content may differ depending on your needs and course duration, but in your course you will:

• Learn simple routines: combining basic Bollywood dance moves while having a good time
• Learn a variety of dance styles: from traditional Indian to Street, Bhangra, Salsa, Middle Eastern and Modern
• Isolate body parts: to define movements, and develop coordination and rhythm

No experience is needed for this course – just turn up and jump in. You’ll receive friendly feedback from your teacher throughout.
